Who we are
Bloomr ("Bloomr," the "app," "we," "us," or "our") is a calm focus timer where every completed focus session cultivates a bonsai. The app is published by Stratega, a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Chris Guida, based in Santa Monica / West Los Angeles, California, USA.
If you have any questions about this policy or your privacy, you can reach us at chris@stratega.io.
This policy applies to the Bloomr app on iOS and Android.
The short version
- Bloomr stores everything locally on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server operated by Stratega.
- Stratega does not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal data. Your trees, focus sessions, streak, stats, and settings never leave your device unless you export them yourself.
- The app is free and supported by ads through Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners are the only parties that process data, in order to serve and measure ads.
- You control ad tracking through the on-device prompts (App Tracking Transparency on iOS, the consent form in the EEA/UK), and you can choose non-personalized ads or decline tracking.
- You can export or permanently delete all your data at any time, right inside the app.
Information we do and don't collect
What Stratega collects: none
Stratega does not operate any servers, databases, analytics, or cloud sync for Bloomr. We do not require you to create an account or sign in, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier. We have no access to the content you create in the app.
What stays on your device
Everything you do in Bloomr is saved only in local on-device storage (using a fast on-device key-value store, MMKV). This includes:
- Your bonsai trees and your Garden shelf (including "deadwood" keepsake trees);
- Your focus sessions and history;
- Your daily streak and the Stats month calendar heatmap;
- Your settings and preferences;
- App state such as ad-frequency counters and your consent/tracking choices.
This data is stored only on your phone. It is not uploaded anywhere by Stratega and it is not synced between devices. If you switch phones or reinstall the app, this data does not transfer.
What is collected for advertising
Because Bloomr is free and ad-supported, Google AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process certain data to serve and measure ads. This is the only data processing connected to Bloomr, and it is handled by Google, not by Stratega. See "Advertising and Google AdMob" below for details.
Local, on-device storage
Bloomr is a local-first, offline app. All of your content and settings are written to and read from storage on your own device. Stratega cannot see this data, cannot recover it for you, and cannot delete it remotely. Because of this:
- If you delete the app, all local Bloomr data is removed from your device.
- If you use the in-app "Delete all data" control, your garden, stats, and settings are erased from the device and cannot be recovered.
- Your data is only ever shared off your device if you choose to export it (for example, via the share sheet).
Advertising and Google AdMob
Bloomr is free and supported by advertising delivered through Google AdMob (a Google service). We use the following ad formats: banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads. Some rewarded ads are optional and only shown when you choose to engage with them in the app (for example, an optional "water it" revive or "double growth" reward).
To serve and measure these ads, Google AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process data such as:
- Your device's advertising identifier (the Advertising ID / IDFA on iOS, or the Google Advertising ID on Android);
- IP address and approximate (coarse) location derived from it;
- Device and app information such as device model, operating system version, language, and similar technical details;
- Ad interaction data, such as which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped, and ad performance/measurement signals.
This data is collected and processed by Google and its partners under Google's own policies and terms, not by Stratega. Stratega does not receive your personal data from these ad services.
For details on how Google handles this data, please review:

Your advertising controls
- iOS — App Tracking Transparency (ATT). Before any cross-app tracking occurs, iOS shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt asking for your permission. If you decline, the app will not track you across other companies' apps and websites, and ads can still be served on a non-personalized basis. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- EEA / UK — consent (UMP). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, a Google-certified consent form (using Google's User Messaging Platform) is shown before ads load, so you can make a choice consistent with the GDPR and UK GDPR before any ads are served. You can reopen this consent form at any time from Settings > Manage consent in the app.
- Non-personalized ads. Where you decline tracking or do not consent to personalized ads, you may instead be shown non-personalized ads, which are based on general, non-personal context rather than your interests or profile.
- Device-level reset. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and Apple Advertising; Android: Settings > Google > Ads).
Your choices and rights
Because your data lives on your device, you are always in direct control of it. From inside the app you can:
- Access and export your data. Use Settings > Export my data to produce a JSON file containing everything Bloomr has stored on your device. You choose where it goes.
- Delete your data. Use Settings > Delete all data to permanently erase your garden, stats, and settings from the device. This cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app also removes all local Bloomr data.
- Manage ad consent. Use Settings > Manage consent (EEA/UK) and your device's tracking settings to change your advertising choices at any time.
GDPR (EEA / UK) rights
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because Stratega holds none of your personal data, you exercise the rights of access, portability, and erasure directly through the in-app Export and Delete controls described above. For ad-related data, the controller is Google; you can exercise your rights with Google through the resources linked above and adjust consent via the in-app consent form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have rights to know, access, and delete personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Stratega does not collect, sell, or share your personal information. You can exercise access and deletion directly through the in-app Export and Delete controls. To limit ad-related data and interest-based advertising, use the ATT/consent and device-level advertising controls described above. For any questions or requests, contact chris@stratega.io. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Making a request to us
While most controls are built into the app, you may also email us at chris@stratega.io with any privacy question or request. Please note that, because we do not collect or store your personal data and have no account system, we generally cannot identify you or access any data on your device; for that reason most requests are fulfilled using the in-app Export and Delete tools.
Children's privacy
Bloomr is not directed to children under 13. At first launch, you confirm that you are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, you can remove all data using the in-app "Delete all data" control or by uninstalling the app, and you may contact us at chris@stratega.io.
Data retention
Stratega does not retain any of your data, because we never collect it. Your content and settings remain on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, and you can delete them at any time using the in-app "Delete all data" control or by uninstalling the app. Ad-related data processed by Google and its partners is retained according to Google's own retention policies (see the Google links above).
Third-party services
The only third-party service that processes data in connection with Bloomr is Google AdMob (and the advertising partners it works with) for serving and measuring ads, as described above. The platforms that distribute the app — the Apple App Store and Google Play — may also collect information under their own privacy policies when you download or use the app. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of Google, Apple, and Google Play.
International users
Stratega is based in California, USA. Bloomr stores your data on your own device wherever you are located, and Stratega does not transfer your personal data internationally because it never collects it. When Google AdMob serves ads, Google may process and store ad-related data on servers in the United States and other countries under its own safeguards and policies. By using the app, you understand that ad-related processing is handled by Google as described above and in Google's policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the app or in legal requirements. When we make changes, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app. Your continued use of Bloomr after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
