Frequently asked questions
What is Bloomr?
Bloomr is a calm focus timer where every completed focus session cultivates a bonsai. You set a timer, you focus, and as you finish sessions your tree quietly grows — a new pad here, a thicker trunk there. Stay with it and sustained focus matures the tree until it blooms in soft sakura pink, the only pink in the whole app. It's available on iOS and Android, it works fully offline, and there's no account to create.
How does my bonsai grow?
Each completed focus session earns your tree a little growth. As that growth adds up, your bonsai moves through stages — from a young sprout, to a growing tree, to a mature specimen. Keep showing up and your tree eventually reaches full bloom. Longer sessions move things along a bit faster, but there's no race here: every honest session counts, and the tree grows at the gentle pace of your attention.
What happens if I leave during a focus session?
Nothing dramatic, and nothing to feel bad about. A quick app switch — checking a notification, glancing at a message — is completely fine; if you come right back within a short grace period, your tree carries on as if nothing happened. If you step away from a live session for longer than that, the tree begins to wilt, and if you don't return it becomes a deadwood specimen. That deadwood isn't a punishment or a scolding — it's a keepsake. It's kept on your Garden shelf forever as a quiet, weathered piece of your story.
Does missing a day kill my tree?
No. Missing a day never harms a tree and never erases anything. The only thing that happens is your daily streak pauses — and a paused streak is easy to pick back up the next time you focus. Life happens. Bloomr is built to be there when you come back, not to guilt you for being away.
What is deadwood, and can I bring a tree back?
Deadwood is the name for a tree that wilted when a live session was left behind. In the world of bonsai, deadwood is prized — beautiful, characterful, and earned — and that's exactly how Bloomr treats it. It stays on your shelf as a permanent keepsake, never deleted and never shamed.
If a tree has just become deadwood, you have two gentle options. Within 24 hours you can choose water it — an optional rewarded revive that brings the tree back so you can continue its journey. Or you can compost the deadwood, which gives your next tree a small head start. Either way, the choice is yours, and there's no wrong one.
What is the Garden?
The Garden is your shelf — a calm collection of every tree you've cultivated. Your finished, fully-grown trees live here alongside your deadwood specimens, each one a small record of the focus that made it. It's a quiet place to look back on, not a leaderboard to climb.
How do streaks and stats work?
Your daily streak counts the days you complete focus, and it simply pauses (never resets to nothing in anger) when you take a day off. Over in Stats you'll find a month-view calendar heatmap that shades your days by how much you focused, so you can see your rhythm at a glance. It's there to encourage, not to nag.
Why are there ads, and is there a subscription?
Bloomr is free, and it stays free. To keep the lights on, the app is supported by Google AdMob, which may show banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads. We're careful about placement: no ad ever appears during a live or abandoned session, or on a bloom or completion moment — those belong to you. There is no subscription and no in-app purchases. The full app is yours, no upgrade required.
Because ads are served by Google, Google and its partners may collect and process some data (such as an advertising identifier, IP address, ad interactions, and coarse device information) to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and its "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services." On iOS you'll see an App Tracking Transparency prompt before any cross-app tracking, and in the EEA and UK a Google-certified consent form appears before ads load. You're always free to choose non-personalized ads or decline tracking.
How do I export or delete my data?
You're in full control, right inside the app. Open Settings and you'll find Export my data, which downloads a JSON file containing everything Bloomr has stored on your device, and Delete all data, which erases it all in one step. Uninstalling the app also removes all of its local data.
Is my data private?
Yes — completely. Bloomr is 100% local and on-device. There's no account, no sign-in, and no servers operated by Stratega. Your trees, sessions, streak, and settings are stored only on your phone and never leave it unless you export them yourself. We don't collect, store, or transmit your personal data. For the full details, see our privacy policy.
Is Bloomr suitable for children?
Bloomr is not directed to children under 13. At first launch you confirm that you are 13 or older, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
How do I contact support?
